PSC Handbook 2019

Club Information Sailing Section The Sailing Section organises all sailing activities for both Cruiser and Dinghy members. Most information can be found in this handbook. However, members should also look at www.portchestersc.org , the Club Facebook page, www.facebook.com/portchestersailingclub and relevant notice boards for up-to-date information. Cruiser Sailing Cruiser racing consists of an InterClub series between Portchester and Hardway Sailing Clubs, along with other “in-Club” events comprising an evening series and one-off races. Sailing instructions and start times, where not shown in this booklet, can be found at www.portchestersc.org and on the notice boards. Cruiser rallies to popular local venues, including the Folly Inn - Cowes, Lymington, Yarmouth, other Solent locations and beyond are held throughout the season and information can be found at www.portchestersc.org , the Club Facebook page and the Cruiser notice board nearer the time. Dinghy Sailing Fast and Slow handicap racing takes place on Wednesday and Friday evenings with “ all in ” handicap racing taking place on Saturdays. Individual Trophy and fun events are held on weekends and Bank Holidays and Fridays are ‘Family Friendly ‘ nights. Cadets have a separate 7 Race Series over the Season and are also encouraged to participate in all Club racing, with their families or using the Club Toppers and Fevas. Look out for Cadet Club notices. The Sailing Secretary or Youth Representative can provide further information. Dinghy Cruising Over the summer months, June to September, we have a Dinghy Cruising Programme (one Sunday per month). These include cruises within Portsmouth Harbour to neighbouring sailing Clubs, our traditional Vectis race and rally to the IOW. PAGE 3
